There will be a bag pattern to work on throughout the weekend, but if you wants to bring your own projects to work on that's fine, everyone will be working at their own pace, and I will be on hand to help out with hints and tips. If you are a quick sewist you may want to bring a couple of projects with you.

Itinerary
Friday (check in to hotel room from 2.30pm onwards)

10.30am onwards - the sewing room will be set up for you to set up your sewing machine and get going with your project, feel free to help yourself to tea and coffee and light refreshments throughout the day.
​
We will break for lunch which will be served in the conservatory with the accompanying coastal views if you want a break from the sewing room, sandwich orders will be taken during the morning session so they are ready for us.
During the afternoon we will set off for a visit to BST Fabrics browse their huge range of fabrics and haberdashery. (if you prefer to stay in the sewing room and continue sewing that is fine). We can then head back to the sewing room where you can continue to sew to your hearts content, and have cake.

The 2 course evening meal will be served around 6.30pm in the conservatory or one of the beautiful function rooms where we can enjoy the beautiful views a little more, eat some fabulous food.

Saturday
7.30am-9.30am - Breakfast is served in the conservatory with a great choice of cooked breakfast, fruit, cereals etc.
​
9am onwards - join everyone in the sewing room for another fun filled day of sewing, banter and cake.
During the morning for those that want too, we will head up to the market area to visit the Immanuels fabric stall, they have a great range of vinyl, £2 a metre fabrics and a fab range of other fabrics for you to add to that depleted fabric stash :)
We will then head back to the hotel once everyone has had their fabric fix

We will have lunch on our return which will be served in the conservatory or private area if you want a break from the sewing room, sandwich orders will be taken during the morning session so they are ready for us.
After lunch we will head back into the sewing room for an afternoon of bag creation.
​
The 2 course evening meal is served around 6.30pm in either the conservatory or one of the function rooms, once we have enjoyed another gorgeous meal we can make use of the bar area or return to the sewing room for anyone who wants to we have full use of the room to continuing sewing.

Sunday (check out 10.30am)
7.30am-9.30am - Breakfast is served in the conservatory with a great choice of cooked breakfast, fruit, cereals etc

9am onwards - join everyone in the sewing room for another fun filled day of sewing, banter and cake.
We will enjoy Sunday lunch(which is unreal) is served in the conservatory, we really are going to make the most of the stunning coastline views.
After lunch we will head back to the sewing room to finish off our projects have those final cups of tea and enjoy every last minute of the retreat weekend, before starting to head home
We have the use of the room until 5pm which will mean the end of the retreat for this time sadly, we have to say our goodbyes, purr over each other's new bags and agree we are all now life long friends and start making plans for the next retreats.

Details of the bag we will be sewing will be released a little nearer to the time of your retreat, the pattern will include a full cutting list and fabric suggestions for you to make preparations ahead of the weekend.​

Workshops
There will be some mini workshops throughout the sewing retreat at no additional cost – you can choose to attend or carry on sewing and working on your projects. The workshops will be tailored to the needs of the group so I will be asking for your input ahead of the retreat..

What are the terms and conditions of The UK Bag Makers Sew-ciety sewing retreat?
A booking fee of £60 per person needs to be paid at time of booking to secure your space. The remaining balance needs to be paid at least 6 weeks prior to the retreat date. This can be broken down into instalments over the remaining time to pay and invoices sent over to you.
Cancellations with less than 6 weeks to the retreat date, are strictly no refunds. You may transfer your space to another person, this will need to be arranged between you and the person transferring too and the details emailed confirming the new attendees details. Shared room booking would need the agreement of the other person sharing before a transfer can be confirmed.
Any cancellations made 6 weeks before the retreat date will be refunded minus any Booking fees and PayPal fees.

In the unlikely event that the retreat has to be cancelled due to the venue or because I can't attend any money paid will be refunded in full.
Where is The Bag Makers Sew-ciety sewing retreat held?
The UK Bag Makers Sew-ciety retreat is held at Little Haven Hotel, River Drive, South Shields, NE33 1LH. There is free parking at hotel and there is also a metro station not far which has links to the local train station and airport.
What do I need to bring with me to the bag makers retreat?
Attendees will need to bring with them;

Sewing machine, including foot pedal and power cord and any aids you need for your sewing machine.

Their favourite sewing and cutting tools (I will have a cutting station set up with rotary cutters and scissors too as well as a pressing station with a heat press and irons. )

Fabric, interfacing, hardware and threads for your projects.

It is useful to have a cushion for the chair to make sitting at the machine more comfortable (hotel chairs can be low), an extension cord, a light that attaches to your machine.
