You know that feeling when you're halfway through a bag and just... stuck?
The pattern’s gone a bit vague, the lining's doing something dodgy, and there’s no one around to ask if you’ve totally messed it up – or if it’s just one of those steps. So you set it aside, thinking you’ll get back to it… but life gets in the way, your sewing mojo disappears, and before you know it, your project joins the pile of half-finished bags in the cupboard.
I know that feeling all too well.
During lockdown, when everything felt a bit uncertain, I started making scrubs and wash bags – and from that, I created a little Facebook group called the Bag Makers Sew-ciety.
At first, it was just meant to be a way to connect with others who were sewing at home too – a place to share, chat, and feel less alone. But it quickly became so much more. Friendships formed, people started helping each other, cheering each other on, and showing up every day just for a bit of connection (and a lot of bag chat).
Over time, I realised that what we had was something special. And that’s when the idea for the Bag Makers Sew-ciety Club was born.
I wanted to take that community feeling and build on it – adding structure, support, and a bit more direction for people who love sewing bags but sometimes struggle to stay motivated or finish what they’ve started (been there!).

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be an experienced bag maker to join?
Not at all! If you can sew a straight line and love making bags (or want to start), you’re welcome. We break things down step-by-step, and there’s always someone around to help if you get stuck.
Are there different membership levels or tiers?
Nope – everyone is equal here. There’s just one membership, one price, and access to everything. No upsells, no locked content, no “VIP” levels. You pay the same as everyone else and get the full experience.
What if I can’t make a live session?
No worries at all – all the skill builders and videos are pre recorded for you to watch at your own leisure. the masterclasses are recorded and uploaded to watch back. at any time The only thing we don’t record are the sewcials, as those are more of a private, relaxed space.
Can new members access past recordings?
Yes! As soon as you join, you’ll get access to all previous videos, masterclasses, and tutorials in the club archive. You can dive into past projects, pick up new techniques, or just watch back at your own pace.
Do I need any special supplies or patterns?
No – we use existing patterns from independent designers (not ones I create myself), and I’ll let you know in advance what we’re sewing each month. You can use your own stash and go at your own pace. No kits or extras required. There is no expectation to sew along if you dont want to you can just come and hang out at the sew alongs and sew at a later time the choice is yours.
What happens if I want to cancel?
You can cancel any time – no contracts, no hard feelings. Your access will continue until the end of your billing period.
Where does everything happen?
All live sessions are held on zoom, and the replays are stored in the member area of the website so you can watch them whenever it suits you. There is no expectation to have your camera on but we find zoom the most interactive platform. Each event is emailed to members at the beginning of the week and also uploaded into the Facebook and WhatsApp group for easy reminders.
Where can I find what is going on and when?
Each week an email is sent out with reminders and links to each event or video. There is also a google calendar with links to each sewcial and live event as well as the Facebook group where I post regularly to keep members up to date with what's happening.
