The second North East Bag Makers Retreat was a great success.
If you're a fan of bag making, then you will know all to well the excitement and satisfaction that comes from creating something beautiful and functional with your own two hands. But what if you could take that joy to the next level by joining
a group of like-minded bag makers for a weekend retreat? That's exactly what the North East Bag Makers Sewing Retreat offers and this last weekend saw the 2nd retreat take place.
The Bag Makers Sewing Retreat is a get together of bag makers and sewing enthusiasts from all over the UK who come together to share their love of bag making, learn new techniques, and form new friendships. The retreat takes place over a weekend, starting on Friday morning and running through to Sunday afternoon. It's a time to disconnect from the stresses of daily life and focus on what you love most: creating beautiful bags.
The retreat is held in a lovely location, right on the North East coastline, and I have worked hard to create a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere, so you can feel at home from the moment you arrive. The retreat is open to bag makers of all levels, from beginners to advanced, so everyone is welcome.
One of the highlights of the Bag Makers Sewing Retreat is the opportunity to learn new techniques and improve your bag-making skills. You'll come away with new skills and knowledge that you can apply to your own bag-making projects at home.
You'll have access to a sewing room, where you can work on your own projects or retreat pattern which ever you choose. It's the perfect opportunity to get inspired by others' creativity and see what's possible when you put your heads together.
Of course, no sewing retreat would be complete without plenty of good food and company. The Bag Makers Sewing Retreat is known for its delicious food.
But perhaps the best part is the chance to meet and connect with other bag makers. You'll be surrounded by people who share your passion and enthusiasm for bag making, and you're sure to come away with new friendships that will last long after the retreat is over.
But it's not all about learning – there's plenty of time a bit of quiet time too! The seafront offers some nice walks and views over to tynemouth and the ruins of the prior or why not end your evening with a stroll to the arcades and a go on the penny slots (though I think with the cost of living crisis they are 2p slots now.) 😁
If you're a bag maker or wanting to start making bags, the Bag Makers Sewing Retreat is an event not to be missed. It's the perfect way to recharge your creativity and make new friends along the way.
Until next time happy sewing
