I’m thrilled to share with you my recent experience as a guest on the Stash Hub Podcast with the wonderful Yvette. It was an incredible opportunity to reflect on my sewing journey and discuss the many exciting turns it has taken. Grab a cup of tea, get comfy, and let's dive into the highlights of our chat!

From Maternity Wear to Scrubs: The Early Days.

When I first started sewing, my focus was on creating comfortable and stylish clothes while I was pregnant with my first child. Sewing was a personal hobby that allowed me to express my creativity and meet my practical needs. As any new mom can attest, finding the right clothes that are both functional and fashionable can be a challenge, so I took matters into my own hands.

Then came the pandemic, and like many others, I felt a calling to contribute. My sewing machine shifted from making cosy maternity outfits to producing much-needed scrubs for healthcare workers. This period was both challenging and rewarding, as it brought a sense of purpose and community spirit to my sewing projects.

Discovering a Love for Bag Making.

During my sewing journey I stumbled upon bag making, and oh, what a revelation that was! The intricate designs, the endless possibilities with fabrics and hardware – I was hooked. Bag making offered a new creative outlet and quickly became a passion.

Engaging with the Sewing Community.

The sewing community has been a constant source of inspiration and support. From online forums to local sewing clubs, the connections I've made have enriched my journey. My love of sewing community really shines through throughout this episode of the podcast.

Final Thoughts.

Being a guest on the Stash Hub Podcast was a fantastic experience. It gave me a chance to reflect on my journey, celebrate the milestones, and share my love for sewing with a wider audience. I hope our conversation inspires you to explore your own creative passions, whether you're a seasoned sewist or just starting out.
