Service Description

Once a month on a Sunday Deb from Me Made Makes hosts the monthly sewcial. Join us for a full day of sewing, chatting, cuppas and cake. Sewing can be quite a solitary hobby but Deb is on a mission to change all that by creating an amazing community not only online but in person too. Each month the sewcial is held from 10am to 5pm at Penshaw Masonic Hall, DH 7LQ. In a spacious room where each sewist has their own sewing space with separate shared cutting and ironing spaces to use if needed. What do you need to bring: Sewing machine and attachments Current project including fabrics and threads Your favourite notions and tools Your lunch (there are places around you can order from if you wish - or you can fill up on cake, thats what I do!!! ) What is provided: Space for each person to set up there work space Cutting Stations (with quilting rulers, cutting mats, scissors and rotary cutters) Pressing Stations (2 irons, pressing mat, ironing board, heat press) Hot drinks Squash Cake and biscuits Spaces are strictly limited and will not exceed 12 in total, spaces must be booked and paid for in advance. 24 hours notice is required to cancel your space, cancellations under 24 hours are charged in full. You may transfer your space to anyone on the waiting list but this must be arrange between the transferring parties and an email sent with the new attendees details. Sessions from 10am-5pm To book session click the book now button below select the date that corresponds to the date you are booking, select next, complete the details and make payment. Then simply turn up on the day with your day with your sewing machine and sewing project. Sessions are held at Penshaw Masonic Hall, Station Road, Penshaw, DH4 7LQ. It is located just off the Shiney Row round about. There is ample free parking and everything is located on the ground floor for easy access. We are a friendly bunch and everyone is made welcome. Please note this isn't a tutored class but an informal event to sew and socialise. If you require help with your project I will be on hand if need but can't guarantee to be able to help with specific topics. If you are looking for specific help with bag making you consider joining my Patreon channel or taking on my bag making workshops which will be confirmed later in the year.
